To keep this in perspective however, this is still very close to what our daytime highs should be this time of year. A much cooler night tonight with lows ranging from the mid 40s to low 50s. A secondary cold front will move into the region later tonight, however will be precipitation free. Otherwise, well above normal temperatures will continue with highs in the 60s, and some low 70s for the Genesee Valley and Finger Lakes region.Īny lingering light showers push east of the area this evening as much drier air associated with high pressure well off to the northwest starts to build into western and northcentral NY. A rumble or two of thunder cannot be ruled out as well. Lingering cold frontal boundary combined with a weak mid level wave crossing the region will bring an uptick to the the shower activity again later this afternoon into this evening from the Finger Lakes E and NE. As RRQ of the upper jet pulls away later this morning, expect remaining shower activity to become lighter and more scattered in nature through early to mid afternoon. Decent area of showers moving through western NY at this time behind the cold front, mainly being forced by mid and upper level support. This front will take the majority of the day to make its way into central and eventually eastern NY. Otherwise, expect above normal temperatures along with high pressure providing another prolonged stretch of dry weather through much of next week.Ĭold front showing signs of slowing its eastward progression as it moves into the Genesee Valley/Finger Lakes region this morning. A secondary dry cold front crosses the area late tonight into Monday morning bringing a brief return to more seasonable temperatures by Tuesday. The Niagara Frontier dries out later this morning in the wake of a cold front that will slowly finish crossing the area by late in the day, which will linger shower chances through this afternoon and early evening, mainly from the Finger Lakes east. ![]()
